Driving really fast down MD-32…

Today, when I was coming home from work, I decided to pop in one of my favorite mix CDs that I made back during college, また、すごいミックス.  I have fond memories of truckin’ up I-75/85, blasting this strange mix of dork rock and J-Pop, driving like a man possessed (don’t all people in Atlanta?).  As I was merging onto MD-32 I was in the grips of “Peak of Hope (Strawberry Jam).”  And then… I floored it.  The RPMs skyrocketed and my Accord roared forward.  It was about this time that I decided to forgo mumbling the Japanese lyrics and instead shout out, “I miss Georgia so goddamn much!”  I’m pretty sure I meant it.  There are a good number of things I miss from Georgia.  The fact that the left lane is used by speeders, and not some lumbering truck splattered with ladders.  I miss the mild winters and honeysuckle.  And dear YHWH do I miss Waffle House…  I am fully aware that Georgia ain’t the same.  Almost everyone has moved on.  But I suppose you never realize how much you miss something until it is gone…
